Annabelle Cooper, age 89, of Woodland Avenue, Emporium, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born April 23, 1925 in Sinnemahoning, she was the daughter of Percy O. and Ella Caldwell Swank.  On March 23, 1946 in Emporium, she married H. Jack Cooper who died February 15, 2007.

 

A resident of Emporium her entire life, Annabelle was a graduate ofEmporium High School.  For 15 years she was employed by Sylvania Electric in Emporium and in 1987 retired from Motor Coil Manufacturing, also in Emporium, where she had been employed for 25 ½ years.

 

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Emporium.

Survivors include: two daughters, Linda J. Cooper of Emporium and Susan K. (Terry) Ireland of Shinglehouse; one step grandson, Terry Ireland, Jr. of Bradenton, Florida; two step great grandchildren, Toni Ireland and Terry Ireland III; one brother, Percy O. Swank of Louisville, Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Smith of St. Louis, Missouri; and several generations of nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her husband, Jack, she was predeceased by her parents, three brothers, Harold D. Swank, Merle C. Swank, and Cecil R. Swank; one sister, Glendora S. Foster; and one step grandson, Thomas Ireland.

 

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. in the Coppersmith-Condon Funeral Home, Emporium where Funeral and Committal Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Short, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.

 

Burial will be in Newton Cemetery, Emporium.

 

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Cameron County Ambulance Service, or the First United Methodist Church, both in Emporium.

Eleanor M. Umbenhauer, 85, of 110 E. 4th St., Emporium, PA formerly of Medix Run, PA died at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, PA Tuesday (October 14, 2014) afternoon. 


 She was born November 24, 1928 in Medix Run, PA a daughter of the late Ernest and Harriet Boyce Crofutt On August 3, 1963 she married the late James Umbenhauer


. Mrs. Umbenhauer retired from Sylvania-GTE wher she worked for many years. She was a member of the Republican Party, was an avid bowler and golfer. Eleanor had been a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Emporium County Club and the First Baptist Church.


 Surviving Son: Richard "Rick" Kahnell and his wife Mary Jo, Emporium 

 Step-daughter: Mary Ann (Ben) Scott, Chandler, AZ 

 16 Grandchildren

 Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Thursday October 16, 2014 from 3-5 PM followed by the Funeral Service at 5:00 PM with Rev. Andrew Johnson, Pastor, First Baptist Church, officiating.


 Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium, PA

Fredrick E. Yentzer, 55, of 2231 Clear Creak Rd., Emporium, PA died at his residence on Sunday (October 5, 2014) afternoon.

He was born December 5, 1958 in St. Marys, PA a son of the late William Yentzer and Nancy Quinn Yentzer Smith.

Fred was an avid outdoorsman, who loved trapping and hunting. His friends meant the world to him.

Celine M. Singer, 85, of Elk Haven, St. Marys, PA formerly of 413 Clear Creek Rd., Emporium, PA died at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, PA on Sunday (October 12, 2014) morning. 

 

She was born June 21, 1929 in St. Marys a daughter of the late Andrew and Bertha Herzing Gerber. On June 21, 2014 in St. Marys she married the late George J. Singer.

 

 Mrs. Singer graduated from Central High School in St. Marys. Celine retired from Sylvania in Emporium where she worked for many years. She also worked at Flowers N’ Things and Emporium Seconaries. She was a member of the St. Mark Catholic Church, the C. D. of A., the Rosary Society, the Red Hat Society and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Unit #6222, Emporium

 

 Surviving Son: Michael (Marcella) Singer, Emporium 

Daughter: Jan (David) Hampton, Emporium 

Daughter: Susie Singer, Johnsonburg 

Son: George (Peach) Singer, Newton, NC

Visitation with Video Tribute will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. 

 

Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, PA

He was born June 22, 1958 in St. Marys, PA a son of Celine Gerber Singer, St. Marys and the late George J. Singer.

Cliff was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #368, Emporium, the Miller-Raffaele Post 6221, VFW and the Knights of Columbus Christabelle Club

William J. "Oz" Ostrum, 71, of 402 W. 6th St., Emporium, PA died at Penn Highlands DuBois, DuBois, PA on Saturday (October 4, 2014) morning.
He was born September 5, 1943 in St. Marys, PA  a son of the late James and Evelyn More Ostrum.


On January 20, 1967 in St. Mark Catholic Church he married Linda McLean Ostrum, who survives.
Mr. Ostrum graduated from Cameron County High School in the class of 1961. He served with the US Air Force in Germany. Oz was a avid hunter, fisherman and an avid all around sportsman. His favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, Penguins and Ohio State. He enjoyed spending time at his camp and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

A Military Service will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.

Visitation with video tribute will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Monday from 5-8 PM.


Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, PA
