Robert M. Fuenffinger, 83, of 170 Meadow Rd., Emporium, PA died at his residence Tuesday (September 22, 2015) afternoon unexpectedly. He was born Nov. 28, 1931 in St. Marys a son of the late Louis and Irene Rigard Fuenffinger. On August 20, 1955 in St. Marys Church he married the late Patricia Bush Fuenffinger.

 

Mr. Fuenffinger graduated from St. Marys High School. He served with the US Army during the Korean War. Bob worked for Keystone Carbon for over 19 years and later at GKN, Emporium, where he worked more than 24 years before retiring. He was a member of the Gardeau Comminity Church, the Miller-Raffaele Post 6221, VFW, the American Legion Olkosky-Jessop Post 194, Emporium and the Emporium Lodge #382, F.and A.M.

 Bob enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Daughter: Lori Pacifico, Erie 

Daughter: Leanna (Bryan) Trost, Erie

 6 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren

Funeral Service were held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 North Michael Street, St. Marys, PA on Saturday (September 26, 2015) at 11:00 AM. A Military Service will follow, conducted by the St. Marys Serviceman's Detail. 

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Saturday morning one hour prior to the service.

 

Burial will be in the St. Marys Protestant Cemetery, St. Marys, PA

Janet M. Lininger, 87, of Sizerville Road, Emporium, died Thursday, September 24, 2015 in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport. Born May 30, 1928 in Renovo she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Dorothy Hopkins Campbell. On December 27, 1953 in Renovo, she married Max Lininger who passed away March 15, 1992.


A resident of Emporium since 1951, she was a 1946 graduate of Renovo High School and in 1950 graduated from Lock Haven State Teachers College. During the 1950-1951 school year she was employed by Elkland School District. She then moved to Emporium where she was employed by the Cameron County School District for 41 years teaching in grades 1-6 before retiring in 1992. Mrs. Lininger was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Emporium, Emporium Senior Center, Friends of the Library and the Order of Eastern Star.


Survivors include: one daughter, Michele (Mike) Rodich of Emporium;

 three grandchildren, Mallory Rodich,

 Matthew Rodich and 

Daniel Earlywine; 

one great granddaughter, Payton Lou Earlywine; 

and several nieces and nephews. 


In addition to her parents and her husband she was predeceased by one son Max Lininger, Jr. in 2014 and one daughter Martha Ellwood in 2012.


There will be no visitation.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2015 in St. Mark Church with Fr. Paul Siebert, pastor, officiating.



In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library or the Woodland Elementary School Library. 


Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Coppersmith-Condon Funeral Home, Emporium.

Douglas K. Stephens, age 84, of Driftwood, died Saturday, September 12, 2015, in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport. Born February 1, 1931 in Canisteo, NY, he was the son of Jesse and Olive Pierce Stephens.

 

Mr. Stephens was a longtime resident of Varysburg, NY and in 1986 retired from Bethlehem Steel where he was employed for over 25 years as an inspector. Twenty years ago he relocated to Driftwood, PA and was a member of the Sinnemahoning Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing & snowmobiling and through the years was always especially fond of his dogs. He also loved music & had a large & varied music collection.

 

Survivors include: one daughter, Sharon (Jim) Fleming of Arcade, NY; 

one son, Richard (Linda) Stephens of Lancaster, NY; 

one grandson, Norman Barvian of Driftwood;

 four great grandchildren; 

one sister, Judy (Jim) Fletcher of Reidville, South Carolina;

 and several nieces and nephews. 

 

Mr. Stephens was predeceased by: one son, Edward Stephens; 

three brothers, Irving Stephens, Gordon Stephens, and Leo Stephens; 

and one sister, Dolores Stephens.

 

Interment with family in attendance will be made in October in Huntley Cemetery, Gibson Township.  The date & time will be published when known.

 

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Coppersmith-Condon Funeral Home, Emporium.

Raymond N. Jablonski, 56, of 521 Nicklas Rd., St. Marys, PA died at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys on Sunday (September 13, 2015) afternoon. He was born February 22, 1959 in Independence, Ohio a son of the late Raymond S. and Mildred Kaliszewski Jablonski, Sr.

 On July 2, 1988 in St. Mark Church he married Frances Quigley Jablonski, who survives.

 

Mr. Jablonski graduated from University of Pittsburgh at Bradford as a registered nurse. He worked at Elk Regional Health Center as a certified diabetic educator and wound specialist and for five years at Elk Haven as a charge nurse. Ray always put his patients first in his nursing career. He was a true people person and a traveler, having traveled to over 32 states. Ray was a member of the St. Mars Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing with his son Raymond and his fishing buddy Bob Beimel. He also enjoyed time with his family, his friend Richard Sarick and his dogs MoJo & Buddy.

Richard A. Thiel, 64, of 324 W. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA formerly of France, died at Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, PA on Sunday evening.
(September 13, 2015), surrounded by his family.

He was born April 14, 1951 in St. Marys, PA, a son of the late Vincent R. and Violet Coy Thiel.

On August 27, 1976 in Langen Hessen, Germany, he married Suzanne Nguyen Thiel.

Richard served with the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1973.
Following his discharge from the military, he worked for Dupont in Germany and Gharles DeGaulle Airport in France.

In 2001, he returned to his hometown of Emporium.

He is survived by his sons, Ronald, Patrick and Vincent of Paris, France.
Stepsons, Bernard and Robert Peroumalle, stepdaughter Hong Sivary, also residing in France.

Rick was the brother of Barbara (John) Gibbs, Cheryl Grim and Rose (Tom) Tompkins, 15 grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

James "Mouse" Heary, Sr., 72, of 516 Chestnut Street, St. Marys, PA died unexpectedly at Shadyside-UPMC, Pittsburgh, PA on Sunday (September 13, 2015) morning.

 

He was born April 15, 1943 in St. Marys, PA a son of the late Arthur and Clara Arnold Heary. On September 13, 1975 in St. Marys he married Helen Krug Heary, who survives.

 

Jim was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Central High School, class of 1961. He was a co-owner and operator of Art Heary & Sons Furniture, where he was active in the business with sales and flooring until his retirement in December of 2013. He enjoyed fishing going to camp and also enjoyed many sporting events Jim will be remembered for his dedication to the community and for always being willing to help others. He was currently an active member of the St. Marys Rotary Club for more than 38 years and had served as a past president and was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow. He was very active with and served on the board of Project Gifts for Elk County. He was a member of the St. Marys Catholic Church where he had served as an usher for many years.

Janice M. Gloss, 68, of Erie Avenue, St. Marys, died Saturday, September 5, 2015, in her home. Born February 2, 1947 in St. Marys, she was the daughter of Zane and Clara Caldwell Rinehuls. In November of 1972 in Emporium she married Carl Gloss who died in 2013.

 

Formerly of Keating Summit, Mrs. Gloss was employed for many years in the kitchens of several St. Marys restaurants before retiring in 2004. 

She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 146 in St. Marys.

 

Survivors include: three sisters, Marian (Ronald) Berry of St. Marys, 

Ramona (Wayne) Smith of Dallas, Texas, and

 Rhonda Morenzoni of Keating Summit; 

and twelve nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and her husband, 

she was predeceased by three brothers,

 Eugene Rinehuls, 

Zane Rinehuls, Jr., 

and Randy Rinehuls. 

 

Memorial Services for Mrs. Gloss will be held at the convenience of the family.

 

Burial will be in Portage Cemetery, Portage Township.

 

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Coppersmith-Condon Funeral Home, Emporium.

Arnold G. "Butch" Thomas, 70, of 48 S. Cherry St., Emporium, PA died at Shadyside-UPMC, Pittsburgh, PA on Thursday (September 3, 2015) afternoon.

 

He was born May 22, 1945 in Sagamore, Armstrong County, PA a son of the late Harry and Ethel Lingenfelter Thomas.

 On February 14, 2015 in Cameron he married Carol Stuart Thomas, who survives.

 

Butch Thomas graduated from Cameron County High School in the class of 1963. He joined the US Navy in 1964, retiring as chief Boatswain's mate in 1993. After retiring from the Navy he returned to Emporium and worked for several Powder Metal Companies before retiring in 2012.

 He was a member of the Miller-Raffaele Post 6221, VFW and 

was an avid bowler bowling at Mountain View Lanes.

She was born May 22, 1950 in St. Marys, PA a daughter of the late George S. and Faye Jewart Agliardo. June 8, 1968 in Emporium she married the late Richard R. Jones, Sr. Mrs. Jones graduated from Cameron County High School in the class of 1968. She was a lifelong resident of the area.
