Anna Marie (Snyder) Russell was born to the late Charles I. and Jennie (Zelenz) Snyder on October 25, 1931 in the Renovo Hospital in Renovo, PA. She left this earth to be with her Lord in the early morning hours of Friday, December 21, 2018 in Manley Hot Springs, AK.
She graduated from Bigler Twp. High School in Madera, PA in the class of 1949. Anna worked a short time at the Cigar Plant in Philipsburg, PA, a few years at the Airplane and Marine plant in Hyde City, PA. The remainder of her working years was at the Houtzdale and Emporium Sylvania plants, ending in 1973 when she quit Sylvania in Emporium, PA to move to Alaska.
She married Ernest C. Russell in the First Methodist Church in Emporium, PA on November 4, 1972.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest C. Russell on June 26, 2014, her parents, brother Chuck Snyder, brother-in-law Andrew Vanderwall, nephew Terry Lessig, Sister-in-law Carol Perusich and brother-in-law Jim Perusich.
Surviving are a sister, Mary Vanderwall of Phoenix, AZ, sister-in-law, Sandy Snyder of Philipsburg, PA, brothers-in-law, Terry Russell (Bea) of Manley Hot Springs, AK and Jim Russell of Emporium, PA, 7 nieces, 4 nephews and 5 cousins.
She was a member of the Manley Christian Fellowship in Manley Hot Springs, AK.
A graveside service will be held at the Newton Cemetery next to her beloved husband, Ernest C. Russell on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Joseph Short, First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Juanita Ruth (Quarles), 82 of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Thursday December 20, 2018. Widow of James E. McDowell. Born July 17, 1936 to the late Gilford and Mary Ethel Quarles in Tuscaloosa Alabama. She graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1957 with a degree in Mathematics. She married James McDowell of Emporium, PA in November 1957. Together they had 6 loving children. They lived in Malvern, PA for 39 years. James passed away in 1992. Since then, Juanita resided in Middletown, PA, Whitehall, PA and more recently in Cincinnati, OH. Juanita (Nita) was loved by everyone for her faith, kindness, and sense of humor

Sister of – Mary Ann Lombardozzi of Middletown, DE and Ellen Walker of Milton, DE.
A Private graveside service will be held in Porage Township Cemetery on Saturday, December 29, 2018. A memorial service is planned for February 2, 2019 at Grace Crossing church in Phoenixville, PA for extended family and friends.
Michael E. Hallowell, 49, of 51 E. 4th St., Apt 202, Emporium, PA died at his residence on Wednesday afternoon (December 5, 2018).
He was born February 24, 1969 in St. Marys, PA a son of the late Willard T. and Judith Wennin Hallowell. Michael served with the US Marines after high school. He was an avid Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Phillies fan. He had worked as a die setter for several local powder metal companies. He was a member of the Christabelle Club, the VWF and the Moose Lodge in Emporium.
He is survived by a son, Michael J. Hallowell, Emporium; one daughter, Brianna S. Hallowell, Emporium; two step-sons, Julien M. Bolin, Emporium; and Chase C. Hernandez, Gettysburg; two grandchildren, Olivia and Jordan Amell; two brothers, David W. "Bucket" Hallowell, Emporium and Matthew (Heather) Hallowell, New Windsor, NY; one sister, Debra D. Hallowell, Emporium; Fiancé, Dana Grovanz, Emporium; Close friend and caregiver, Donna Burnside, Emporium.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald E. Hallowell, sister-in-law, Kimberly Hallowell; maternal grandparents, Ben and Anna Mae Wennin; paternal grandparents, Emerson and Olive Hallowell.

Alma M. Bailey, 70, of Meadow Road, Emporium, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018, in her home. Born January 17, 1948 in Port Allegany, PA, she was the daughter of Clarence and Nina Mead Taylor. She was married to Harold Bailey who passed away in 2002. Formerly of Port Allegany, Alma has been a resident of Emporium for 49 years and was employed by several local businesses including the Cabin Kitchen, Motor Coils, Phil’s Shoe Store, Pro America and finally Sheetz until the time of her retirement. Alma was a member of the Vets Club and the Moose Club, both in Emporium.
She is survived by: two sons, Harold “Chum” (Christina) Bailey of Sterling Run, and Edward P. Bailey of North Creek; four daughters, Tanya Lynn (Shawn) Connelly of Austin, Pa., Tina M. Abbott of Knoxville, Pa., Tammy I. (Mike) Neyman of Emporium, Lorraine F. Bailey and significant other Chuck Sarokon of North Creek; thirteen grandchildren, Sara Neyman, Kelly (Josh) Bundy, Adam and Ryan Clark, Kyle and Taylor Connelly, Natasha and Timothy Banks, Katherine and Harold “Jr.” Bailey, and Scott, Ashley and Alexander Abbott; seven great grandchildren; four brothers, Clarence “Tim” Taylor of Dukes Center, Bill Taylor and Clark Barber both of Port Allegany, and Fred Mead of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas R. Taylor in 1967 and Larry K. Bailey in 1986.
Friends will be received in the Coppersmith-Condon Funeral Home, Emporium, on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. at which time Funeral and Committal
Services will be held with Robert Spaeth of Emporium, officiating.
Burial will be in Newton Cemetery, Emporium.
